Fox Creek High School’s Noah Barnett, left, prepares to apply the brakes to Crescent’s Jesse Tope Friday evening, in the Predators’ 26-0 win for homecoming.
Region 2-AA football action begins this week for Fox Creek High School, and the Predators head into the action with a three-game winning streak, having dumped Crescent 26-0 Friday evening at Lions Field.

The homecoming contest, featuring two touchdowns and 100-plus rushing yards by quarterback Mike Adams, boosted Fox Creek to a 3-2 overall record.

Adams’ bunch had a 7-0 lead at halftime and racked up 13 points in the fourth quarter to erase any doubt. The win also represented the first shutout in Stewart’s inaugural season at the charter school.

Fox Creek’s defense was exceptionally stingy, holding the visitors to 158 yards of total offense – 24 carries for 48 yards, and 24 passes leading to 11 completions, 110 yards and two interceptions.

Up next is a Friday trip to Greenwood County, to face Ninety Six in a 7:30 p.m. game. The Wildcats are 2-2, most recently having won in a 26-0 rout Friday at Dixie, in Due West.

Among Fox Creek’s leaders on offense so far have been Ryan Chavous (11 touchdowns and more than 600 rushing yards) and Dawson Lewis (40 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss and six sacks), according to Stewart.
