Predators News · Predators End Rebels Season; Advance to the Region 5-AAA Semifinals

The Varsity Boys basketball team was able to shake off a sluggish start on the road against Strom Thurmond HS after the Rebels started the game off on a 9-0 run in what was a “win or go home” game. The Preds battled back by scoring 21 points in the 2nd quarter frame to take a 25-23 halftime lead into the locker room. Jadon Johnson and Tyler Stampley continually made plays all night by knocking down perimeter shots and driving to the basket both in transition and within the half court offense. Johnson finished with 19 pts and Stampley with a career high 17 pts. Tyson Walker was a matchup issue for the Rebels inside. He finished with 13 pts. Connor Cannon (6 pts) and Quincy Wells (2 pts) rounded out the scoring for FC. The Preds were able to seal the game in the 4th quarter by connecting on 8 FTS down the stretch.

Up next: FC will travel to “Top 10” ranked Brookland-Cayce HS on Monday night with a trip to the Region 5-AAA championship and the “Sweet 16” in the SCHSL AAA State Playoffs on the line. Tip-off will be 7:00 PM. Tickets will be $7.00 and they will be sold at the door.
