Last night the JV Predators faced off against Silver Bluff for the final game of the season. In the first set the predators came out swinging with 5 kills from Freshman Rylee Newman, 4 kills from Sophomore Zoe Nevils, 2 kills from Freshman Shelby Benson, and one kill from Sophomore Campbell Smith. The predators passing game was the strongest and most consistent it had been all season with accurate serve receive passes and digs from Freshman libero Kylee Carreras, as well as Freshman Anna Hickey. This made the job of Sophomore setter Camdyn Turner easier and she was able to line up her sets accordingly to receive the most success from them. The girls serving game was also top notch with 4 aces from Newman, 4 aces from Sophomore Olivia Hickey, and 2 aces from Carreras. This amazing volleyball play allowed the Predators to win the first set. In the second set the predators were off to a slow start making several mental errors early on. However, they were able to quickly course correct and started making great plays. One such play was a block from Nevils. The back row continued to provide strong passes to allow for kills from Smith, Nevils, Newman, O. Hickey, as well as, one back row attack from Turner, and two free ball kills from Carreras and A. Hickey. The predators serving game also helped propel them forward with aces from Nevils, Turner, Carreras, Newman, and Smith. All of these things coming together allowed the predators to win the second set and gave them the victory over Silver Bluff for the last game of the season. The JV Predators have had one amazing season and I am grateful to end it on such a high note.
