Houndslake Country Club- In a three-way match between Fox Creek, Aiken, and Midland Valley, the Aiken Hornets would come out victorious posted a 4-man score of 166. The Predators would struggle throughout the day and come in with a team score of 185, good enough for 2nd place among the three schools.
Charlton Hill and Braeden Halfman from Aiken would be the top scorers from the three schools as the both posted a +3 (39). The Predators struggled to gain any momentum after a rough start. Bryce Bessey would lead the way with a 44 for the Predators, including a birdie on the par-4 5th. Evan Prickett battled through a stomach bug en route to a 45. Darien Dorn continues to improve his scores as he posted his second round in the 40s this week, much improved from the first month of the season. Grant Riley carded his first birdie of his high school career on the par-5 1st. Braedon Murphy also continues to improve as he contributed a score of 50. A score that could have been much better if not for an overhanging limb on the 9th hole that caused a nasty deflection resulting in a lost ball.
The Predators fall to 2-2 on the season in 9-hole matches and are in action at home next Wednesday and Thursday at Mount Vintage. Come on out and support as they take on region-foe Batesburg-Leesville on Wednesday and then will have a chance to avenge their loss to Aiken in a rematch next week.
