Girls Varsity Golf · Predator’s Heath wins SCJGA Player of the Year

Fox Creek High School 1st 79

Unlike most of her peers this summer, instead of sleeping in late and hanging by the pool, Fox Creek’s Caroline Heath spent her time grinding away on the South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s (SCJGA) summer tournament circuit. The rising Fox Creek Sophomore was named the 2019 SCJGA Ladies Player of the Year. Heath would accumulate a total of 79 points that was tops among girls in the 14 and Up age division. Her summer performances were highlighted by a win at Midland Valley Country Club and her first career eagle at the par-5 18th at Persimmon Hill Golf Club in Saluda.

Heath’s performance has been due in large part to her work ethic outside the regular season as she regularly plays at her home course of Mount Vintage Golf Club. Heath was also joined by teammate Maycie Rice and two members of the Boys Varsity Team, Braedon Murphy and Evan Prickett, at the Clemson University Summer Golf Camp. All four Predators would take home hardware from the various skill competitions. Murphy and Prickett have also been regulars on the SCJGA circuit this summer as well.

Caroline Heath and Maycie Rice will look to lead the Girls Varsity Team in their second year of play as practices begin August 20th.
